Simplifying (Reducing) Fractions

Simplify or reduce a fraction is to get the numerator and denominator as small as possible.

Remember you can divide the numerator and the denominator by any number... as long as you use the same number for both!

Simplify $\frac{24}{30}$
Note that the l.c.m.(24,30)=6, and divide the numetaror and the denominator by 6.
$\frac{24}{30}=\frac{4}{5}$

Reduce $\frac{20}{72}$

Solution:
