Angle bisector

The bisector of an angle is a line that divides the angle into two equal parts.

You can construct the bisector of an angle using compasses.

Construct the bisector of <ABC

  1. Open the compasses and put the point on B. Draw an arc that intersects with AB and AC.
  2. Do not change the opening of the compasses. Put the point on the intersection of the arc with AB and draw a new arc. Do the same thing with BC. Draw the new arcs to intersect at D.

  3. Join BD.
