Rationalization of the denominator in the radicand
There will be two different cases:
  • Simple rationalization. Multiply the numerator and denominator of the radicand by such a number as will make the denominator a perfect nth power (here n = 3) and then remove the denominator from under the radical sign. Example:

  • Rationalizing binomial denominators. To rationalize a fraction whose denominator is a binomial with radicals of index 2, multiply numerator and denominator by the conjugate. Example:

Note: Don't forget using the sign "+" or "-" between the radicals
