An isosceles triangle has two sides, called legs, with the same lenght. The reamining side is called the base, and the angle opposite the base is the vertex angle.
In an isosceles triangle the base angles have the same degree measure and are, therefore, congruent. Conversely, if two angles of a triangle have the same measure, then the sides opposite the angles have the same lenght.
